The Three Graces is a video installation that shows two perspectives: a view of bodies and organs as well as a view of gametes and their mode of movement.

This video presents the reproductive functioning of a hypothetical 3rd human sex which would be based on the fertilization of the spermatozoon producing a new gamete capable of fertilizing the egg. A form of threesome sex is induced from this.
The sexual act takes up the composition of the sculpture of the Three Graces dating from the 2nd century AD discovered on Mount Caelius in Rome, currently in the Louvres. The three Graces (or the Charites in Greek mythology) personify life in all its fullness, including the concepts of beauty, nature and fertility.

The video also takes the form of didactic videos on human anatomy through its play of X-ray transparencies and virtual imagery. Combined with the primordial aspect of the setting, this brings the discovery of this third sex back to a form of retrofuturistic mythological story.
